Ms. Haley's 8th grade class learned about career clusters today. Students were challenged to list as many careers as they could think of that would belong in various career clusters.

Our junior high girls basketball teams open up conference play today! Our 6th graders are on the road at JFK, while our 7th and 8th graders will host JFK in the Storm Gym tonight at 4:30. Good luck to both teams! Go Storm!
Thank you to everyone who donated money on Bureau Valley's Hat Day. The district raised $1,700 that will be donated to the local fire departments in honor of 9/11. Way to go Storm!
BVJH PE got to test out the new Omnikin ball and scooters today!
Sixth Grade Artists are finishing their Neurographic lines with permanent marker, choosing a color family, and painting their spaces with watercolors from that color family. They are building hand-eye coordination skills, applying basic composition strategies, and showing control by blending watercolor in small areas. Great work!
While they may not all be wearing hats, almost all of 8D donated to the fundraiser! Thank you for your generous donations!

Seventh Grade Artists learned about street art, distinguishing characteristics of lettering styles, balancing a composition, and created their own unique graffiti style! They are finishing blending chalk on their designs before they add their background colors. Great Work!
⭐ Bureau Valley FFA was well-represented at the Black Hawk East Greenhand & Discovery Conference with 6 Greenhand (1st Year High School) members and 10 Discovery (Middle School) members! 🎉 Huge thanks to BHE for giving our students the chance to connect with peers from area schools, hear an inspiring keynote, and participate in exciting workshops. Special shoutout to our Section 3 Officers, Toby Behrends and Payton Monier, for leading those workshops and making us proud! 💪
6A and 6C enjoyed a review game of Jeopardy for their upcoming Nouns Quiz! Students identified and distinguished various types of nouns.
The Illinois Farm Bureau and other organizations provide educational materials for use in schools such Ag Mags. Ms. Bitting's 3rd graders have been reading about dairy farms and their role in agricultural. The class recently enjoyed making butter from heavy whipping cream.

We are in for a battle! Our baseball team will be traveling to LaSalle tonight to take on #1 Peru Parkside for a chance to get into the SRC championship game. The game will start at 4:30, and we want to wish the team and coaches the best of luck!

SRC Tournament action is happening tonight for both our softball and baseball teams. Our baseball team hosts opening round vs LaSalle at 6:30 in Wyanet, as our softball team travels to Peru to take on Princeton at 6:30. Last night we recognized our 8th grade softball players while playing Ottawa. We want to wish the ladies the best of luck the rest of their season as well as their final year in junior high. Good luck to them and the rest of the team in the SRC tournament next week.
