6A and 6C have been busy investigating three different theories of Yellow Fever in ELA.
Students had to evaluate and determine how the fever is being spread around Cuba by working in small "medical teams." Great work to all of the students! 🧪

It was a GREAT night for our junior high athletics! Our 7th grade girls basketball team wrapped up their season with a 4 game winning streak, 8th grade girls are preparing for regionals in the upcoming weeks, our 6th grade boys opened up their season tonight with a great battle, and our 7th and 8th grade boys had their first home games of the season. Great job to all teams! Great day to be a Storm!


Our basketball teams are back in action today as our boys travel to Visitation with game time at 5:30. Our girls are hosting Oglesby Washington for their final home game of the season with tipoff being at 4:30. Good luck to all our basketball teams today! Go Storm!



Third grade artists are rolling out clay slabs with Mrs. Knapp. Repeating "roll, roll, flip, turn" while they are rolling. They then trace shapes from a net pattern to cut out the base, lid, and walls for their soon-to-be clay cubes.






BV 8th graders ran a mock election today. All third through eighth graders plus faculty and staff voted. Every homeroom got five electoral votes along with staff. Donald Trump won with 90 out of 95 electoral votes.

Mrs. Platz and Ms. Kluck planned a special faculty meeting today to announce that Bureau Valley Elementary and Junior High’s 2024 Summative Designation is EXEMPLARY. This esteemed designation belongs to all our students, staff, and the entire BV Community. Staff were surprised with T-shirts after school on Monday to announce being awarded another Exemplary designation. Congratulations to everyone on this amazing back-to-back accomplishment!

It was a great weekend sweep for our 7th/8th boys and girls basketball teams! The boys opened their season at Rockridge and the girls traveled to Indian Creek. Way to go teams!!

Busy day for junior high athletics tomorrow, our girls basketball teams will travel to Indian Creek while our boys basketball team opens up their season @ Rockridge. Both games start at 10:00, and we want to wish all the teams the best of luck! Go Storm!



The Croctober final count is in! With our Interact Chuck a Duck dontation, Bureau Valley K-8th schools were able to raise $826 towards the Believe Foundation in Princeton! Thank you to all the staff and people who have donated towards such a great cause!!


The Bureau Valley Elementary in Manlius would like to invite all veterans to our annual Veteran's Day Assembly on Monday, November 11th. It will take place in the Bureau Valley Auditorium at 1:00PM. Please RSVP to the office if you plan on attending. We want to thank all of our veterans on this special day!


The 8th graders had a beautiful day yesterday for their annual class trip to Springfield. They were able to tour the Illinois Capitol, Lincoln Museum, and other historical sites they have learned about in their classrooms!

October BVE STEM enrichment with Mrs. Hoyt. 5th grade constructed Spider Web Bridges. 4th grade designed, assembled, and launched their Candy Leaf Catapults. 3rd grade created the tallest Ghost Tower Challenge out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.
