
Eddie Korosa Jr. was in Manlius to play Oktoberfest favorites for our 3-8 students. If he looks familiar, he is from the movie “Home Alone”. The kids (and adults) had a wonderful time!




Thank you Bureau Valley for your donations on our 2022 Hat Day for our local fire departments. Bureau Valley raised $1,500 altogether and Manlius Fire Department received their donation today after our first Manlius fire drill. Thank you for all you do MFD!


Ms. Haley’s 8th grade Character & Career class learned about career clusters today. Each group brainstormed careers that would fit into each of the different clusters they chose.

That’s a sweep for the BVJH girls basketball teams. 6th grade won 12-9, 7th grade won 43-8, and 8th grade won 44-13. The 7th and 8th grade will have their home opener tomorrow night against Spring Valley at 5:00. 6th grade is on the road at Spring Valley at 4:30. Congratulations ladies! Go Storm!

Which apple will lose the most water?? 6th grade students are using their science skills they learned the last two weeks to investigate which apple will lose the most water! Any guesses?? We will update on Friday with the winner!!

Ms. Smith and Ms. Taylor's classes practiced the QFT technique for creating critical thinking questions.



8th grade physical science students completed a mini lab today that had the students exploring how motion works with a marble and some tubing.





The first Open Studio in Mrs. Knapp's art room was relaxing. Thank you to everyone that was able too make it, and for being open to this experience. And thank you Mrs. Platz for the brownies!
Open Studio is the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 3-5pm for staff members to be creative.
October 11th will be our next studio, with an autumn theme.





Congratulations to our BVJH softball team on a great season. We saw a lot of growth from beginning to end and they had a hard fought battle today against #1 seeded Stark County! Good job this season ladies! Go Storm!!

The 3rd and 5th grade students learned of their fortune today as they experimented with the Fortune Fish.





Bureau Valley Manlius 3rd-12th grade students and staff members donated $1,000 today for our 2022 Hat Day in commemoration of all the 9/11 heroes. Storm Proud! ⚡️💙⚡️





Students in Mrs. Hoyt’s 8th grade Physical Science classes were able to get outside and utilize the courtyard during their Position and Motion activity. The students’ task was to create detailed instructions on how to get from one position to the next.





Students in Ms. Crabtree’s 5th grade class were experimenting to see how temperature affects molecules by comparing a balloon that was placed in a sunny windows vs. a ballon that was placed in the freezer.





Ms. Bitting’s 3rd graders are working on mastering their basic addition facts by playing Addition War for eight minutes each day. Next week they plan on having an Addition War tournament and they are exciting to see who will be the Addition War Champion.




Congratulations to these ladies on their opening round win over Peru 15-0! They now will play at Wenona City Park
at 10:00 AM vs Stark County.

Ms. Ackerman’s 6th graders utilized their “detective skills” to make inferences on their ‘Westing Game’ novel! Students blend their antecedent knowledge with textual evidence to form an inference on character motive!
