
Fifth graders in Mrs. Kuelper’s class did a science mini lab about how smell affects taste. Students were given an unknown Jolly Rancher flavor and were told to plug their nose and try to guess the flavor in their mouth. We collected and discussed the data.





A big congratulations goes out to the Bureau Valley Junior High Volleyball Teams as the final total came in for Heart Awareness Night. Thank you to everyone in the community and district that made this night successful.

Mrs. Bell’s 4th grade class learned how to write formal letters. They each chose a national park or natural wonder in the United States to research, and then with the information they wrote a letter to mail. Today, the students walked to the post office to mail their letters.


Bureau Valley Junior High & High School Athletics are offering weightlifting for our junior high athletes. High school coaches will be supervising the weight room in the morning starting February 21st at 6:30AM. There will be no transportation provided. They will enter through the Storm Gym doors and will be let out in time to go down to the MPR for breakfast in the morning. Please contact the junior high office with any questions. Thank you.

On February 2nd the scholastic bowl team took a break during morning practice to see if our BV Scholastic Bowl Groundhog “Bill” would see his shadow. He did see his shadow. That means 6 more weeks of winter, folks!



Mr. DeVenney’s class met their January incentive! They chose to have a Pickles and Pringles Party. Way to go 4D!




Please join the junior high volleyball teams tonight as the celebrate Heart Awareness Night as well as honoring our 8th graders. We have baskets for our Silent Auction, Parlor Coffee Drinks, Souvenir Shop, and Chuck-a-Duck. Games begin at 4:00 with our 8th grade recognition before the 8th grade game.





Students completed a HIIT workout in PE to improve their speed and agility!

Congratulations to all three of our junior high volleyball teams on a very successful day! 8th grade finished 2nd in their tournament, 7th grade finished 1st, and 6th grade won the consolation championship. It was a great day to be a Storm volleyball player!

7th grade students in Mrs. Hoyt’s Life Science classes are comparing businesses with either the parts of a plant or animal cell. Such businesses include a pizza parlor, donut shop, factory, hospital, town, and school.





Sixth grade artist's in Mrs. Knapp's class created line drawings based on Neurographic Art. They chose a color family and are adding watercolor to complete their "tiles."
