Mrs. Hoyt's 8th grade Physical Science students have been experimenting with different energy stations. The students were able to share with their classmates the energy transformations that were happening at their station.

Tonight's track meet @ PLT has been canceled due to the weather. We are turning around the buses and bringing the track athletes back to home to their drop off spots. There will be no track practice tonight but there will be track practice tomorrow after school until 4:15. We will be providing bus transportation after their track practice tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience, PLT canceled at 2:35.

Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team for a GREAT start in the SRC Tournament! They won all 4 matches today and will play 3 matches on Thursday. Good luck!



Ms. Haley's 8th grade class learned about career clusters today. They were challenged to come up with as many careers as they could in a variety of different clusters.




Mrs. Bell's class is wrapping up a unit about sound waves. The task this week is to create a sound wave watcher out of materials from home or the classroom. They created the project and started tested them today.




Fourth Grade Artists studied the abstract sculptures created by Henry Moore. Moore and the Fourth Grade Artists used negative space and simplified forms to create reclined figures. Today they added the finishing touches to their sculpture with paint.




Congratulations to our Scholastic Bowl team for winning their last non-conference meet against Kewanee Visitation! The score was 190-80 in the first match and 200-100 in the second.




The age of the sea floor is determined by measuring magnetic patterns in rocks. Today students compared this to similar patterns to drying glue in 6th grade science.




Congratulations to our "Best of Day" performers from the IESA Solo and Ensemble that took place a couple weekends ago. We received the certificates in the mail yesterday and was able to recognize the students. Great job Storm!!

Mrs. Kuelper's and Ms. Crabtree's 5th grade classes had some fun with displaying the moon phases using Oreo cookies. Once the assignment was graded, students got to eat the Oreos!

Mrs. Hoyt's 8th grade Physical Science students created miniature windmills to explore wind energy.






Mrs DeMay's 6th graders investigated how to put together a peel puzzle. They demonstrated how an orange peel can illustrate how continents might fit together!

Mrs. Hoyt's 8th grade Physical Science students have been learning about energy. The students were able to choose a Lego creation to complete and share with their classmates on how their creation works as well as the forms of energy that are occurring.





Last week, students in Mrs. Hartz's math classes did a Gallery Walk! Each group learned about a topic, made a poster, and taught their classmates. Then each group walked from poster to poster to practice examples. It was a hands-on-way to learn new things!
