Mrs. Bell's class learned about growing plants in a hydroponic system. The students chose a plant to grow, and they will monitor the water level and growth of the plants. Thank you to the BV Foundation mini-grant for the purchase of these!

Mrs. Hoyt's 8th grade Physical Science students presented their Trash to Treasure Musical Instruments that they created. The students were able to produce sounds with their different styles of instruments.
Today 6th grade students witnessed what happens when different rock layer collide! Students were able to witness what happens when you put an object with the same density in different liquids and then determined the density of the objects by the buoyancy!
The Drama Club worked so hard on their production and it was done so well!! Great job to the students and directors!! If you are not busy tonight they play will start at 7:00 in the auditorium!
The 3rd and 4th grade students had a great day of building in STEM today. They put together a solar car that they will test at a later date.
6th graders practiced their Adding & Subtracting Integers skills by playing Battleship in Mrs. Hartz's class!

4th grade completed a research project on Mythology characters. They presented their projects today.

Mrs. Hoyt's 8th grade Physical Science students have been experimenting with different energy stations. The students were able to share with their classmates the energy transformations that were happening at their station.

Tonight's track meet @ PLT has been canceled due to the weather. We are turning around the buses and bringing the track athletes back to home to their drop off spots. There will be no track practice tonight but there will be track practice tomorrow after school until 4:15. We will be providing bus transportation after their track practice tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience, PLT canceled at 2:35.

Ms. Haley's 8th grade class learned about career clusters today. They were challenged to come up with as many careers as they could in a variety of different clusters.
Mrs. Bell's class is wrapping up a unit about sound waves. The task this week is to create a sound wave watcher out of materials from home or the classroom. They created the project and started tested them today.
Fourth Grade Artists studied the abstract sculptures created by Henry Moore. Moore and the Fourth Grade Artists used negative space and simplified forms to create reclined figures. Today they added the finishing touches to their sculpture with paint.
Congratulations to our Scholastic Bowl team for winning their last non-conference meet against Kewanee Visitation! The score was 190-80 in the first match and 200-100 in the second.
The age of the sea floor is determined by measuring magnetic patterns in rocks. Today students compared this to similar patterns to drying glue in 6th grade science.
Congratulations to our "Best of Day" performers from the IESA Solo and Ensemble that took place a couple weekends ago. We received the certificates in the mail yesterday and was able to recognize the students. Great job Storm!!
