Tomorrow, November 21st BV schools will dismiss at 2:00pm. Our PreK classes will attend: AM 8-10 and PM 11:40-1:40.

Mrs Krug's 3rd grade class has been given the STEM challenge to build a "bine bridge" using only liquid glue and QTips.
3rd grade has been learning about the Elements of Drama. They were excited to be able to practice those skills and act out one of the fun plays they have been reading, and they did great!
Our 3rd graders got to participate in an obstacle course created by Mr. Juhola! This was an amazing incentive for our students, as they continue to be Safe, Responsible, and Respectful! All our 3rd graders got to participate! Great job everyone, it was fun! #UnityExcellencePride

2nd grade enjoyed the obstacle course Mr. Juhola set up for our monthly incentive! It was great to see them all cheering each other on!
Mrs. Krug's 3rd grade Math class spent some time outside to discover multiplication and division in nature! They had fun finding objects in nature and breaking them apart into equal groups, then writing the equations that go along with it.
Thank you Mr. Stabler for coming in to read to Mrs. Monier's 2 grade class! The students really enjoyed it!
Adalynn is Mrs. Henegar's Student of the Month for November! Adalynn is a very hard worker. You can always count on her to give her best effort. She is kind to her classmates and respectful towards the staff. Way to go, Adalynn!

In SEL, we have been working on following directions and listening with drawings for the Veterans Day program on November 10th!
Mrs. Berry's art classes have been creating wonderful art to decorate the hallways for Veterans Day. BV Walnut's program is November 10, at 10 in the gymnasium. The public is welcome to attend.

K-5 students in Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Minssen's classes have been learning about Veteran's Day. They are practicing important vocabulary words, writing short notes, and citing text evidence. Students worked on some mini projects/pages to show their patriotism. Thank you for your service, Veterans. They are looking forward to our Veteran's Day Assembly this week!
Veterans Day program rehearsal is moving along!
Students in Mrs. Minssen's Reading classes have been continuing learning about Veteran's Day through expanding vocabulary & comprehension activities. They found a cloze read page to be challenging & an abc order word sort to be fun! We look forward to honoring all veterans!

The third grade class is practicing how to measure using the metric system. They are doing this by measuring their feet.
Their partners measure both the right foot and left foot. They have to measure using centimeters, and then covert to millimeters.
Did you know that most people tend to have one foot that is slightly larger than the other one?
Also, it is easier and more accurate to measure metrically.
