BVJH Student Council treated our winning Coin Wars classrooms 7A and 5K to lunch by Jimmy John’s today. For BVJH, Mr. Hartz’s 7A students collected $300.49 and for BVE, Mrs. Kuelper’s 5th grade students collected $266.85 to give us a grand total for 3-8 of $1,380 to be donated to our own local food pantries. Way to give back BV!





Congratulations to our BVHS 8th Grade Volleyball Team and Coach DeMay on their 2022 season. Regional play ended sooner than we wanted but these girls worked hard all season and had a great year. BVHS here they come and they are talented and BV strong so get ready!

Mrs. Ackerman’s class continued to celebrate ‘Fat Tuesday’ today with a Mardi Gras parade through the office this morning.

Happy Twosday BV! Manlius 3-8 students and staff celebrated 2/22/22 by wearing ties, tiaras and tutus or dressing like twins with a friend. What a fun way to celebrate this unique date!

Mrs. Rediger and Mrs. Schoff held our BVJH 2022 Geography Bee today during Study Hall. Congratulations to our 2022 champion Andy Zueger, 2nd place contestant - Tony Zueger, and 3rd place contestant - Garrett Gross. Great job by all contestants and these top 3 students will continue on to the next level of competition.

BVJH Athletic Updates:
BVJH 6th/7th and 8th-grade volleyball games have been canceled due to Streator's transportation issues. They will be rescheduled and the new dates will be communicated by coaches.
Practices:
7th and 8th-grade volleyball teams will practice after school from 3:00-5:00 and then be able to ride the activity shuttle to their hometown bus drop-off points.
The 8th-grade boys basketball team will practice in Walnut as scheduled.
No 6th-grade practice today or tomorrow morning.
No Scholastic Bowl practice tomorrow morning.

Bureau Valley Elementary students participated in the 2022 ILMEA All State Choir Saturday in Peoria. The choir rehearsed in the morning to prepare for their afternoon concert. Thank you to Mr. Lancaster and our families for supporting outstanding musical experiences like these for our students. 🎶




BVJH 8th graders earned their own Pajama Day today in Manlius as they claimed first place in December’s positive behavior incentive. Great job 8th grade and don’t forget, January is still up for grabs!





Reminder- our BVJH Volleyball games start at 5:30 tonight in Manlius due to transportation issues for Henry. Our 6th grade game will start at 5:30 followed by 7th and 8th grade games. Doors due not open until 5:00 due to basketball practice. GO STORM!

Congratulations to our 2022 BVJH Spelling Bee Champion, Alex Attig! Second place was taken by Damon Lyford and third place by Brad Schoff. All competitors did an excellent job and were cheered on by their classmates from their classrooms! Good luck to Alex as he moves on to compete at the next level.




BVJH/Elementary Staff Scrabble Thursday was a great way to promote our BVJH Spelling Bee this Friday and have a lot of fun with Spelling too! Team Quartz took first place with 24 points!
