Ms. Haley’s 6th grade students practiced being good listeners with a classroom activity. One student had to explain an image displayed on the board while another student tried to draw it without seeing the image.

Third grade artists have been building their observation skills in Art class. Each student used a viewfinder to choose their composition. They drew the large shapes first, and now they are filling in the details. Great work third grade!

Students in Mrs. Kuelper’s fifth grade science class have been learning all about circuits. The students tried different ways to make a circuit work by using a switches, batteries, and lights.

The students worked through the steps of the scientific method as they observed their fortune telling fish. The teachers were also included in on the fun we have in STEM!
The 7th graders attempted throwing boomerangs during Social Studies on Friday after studying Australia. Some even came back!

4th grade took advantage of the beautiful day. They went outside and drew nature using their human eye, and then used their magnifying eye they created in science and drew it again. They discussed some animals have better vision than others to help them survive.
Eddie Korosa Jr. was in Manlius to play Oktoberfest favorites for our 3-8 students. If he looks familiar, he is from the movie “Home Alone”. The kids (and adults) had a wonderful time!
Thank you Bureau Valley for your donations on our 2022 Hat Day for our local fire departments. Bureau Valley raised $1,500 altogether and Manlius Fire Department received their donation today after our first Manlius fire drill. Thank you for all you do MFD!
Ms. Haley’s 8th grade Character & Career class learned about career clusters today. Each group brainstormed careers that would fit into each of the different clusters they chose.

That’s a sweep for the BVJH girls basketball teams. 6th grade won 12-9, 7th grade won 43-8, and 8th grade won 44-13. The 7th and 8th grade will have their home opener tomorrow night against Spring Valley at 5:00. 6th grade is on the road at Spring Valley at 4:30. Congratulations ladies! Go Storm!
