Bureau Valley's Regan Cook won the Region #5 Poetry Out Loud contest. Congratulations to Regan, and we wish her the best of luck at the state competition in Springfield on March 2nd.

Congratulations to FFA members who placed at the Section 3 Proficiency contest.
Tate Behrends, Bailey Broers, and Wyatt Wessel all earned 1st place honors and will advance to the District contest on March 4th.

In anticipation of inclement weather, all activities and practices scheduled for before school on Thursday, February 13th have been cancelled.

Congratulations to the Poetry Out Loud winners: 1st place Hailey Tranchita, 2nd place Regan Cook, and 3rd place Paige Twidell. The top two finishers will travel with Mrs. DeReu to the Region #5 contest in Annawan on February 15th.

We would like to inform you that the Bureau Valley Manlius Campus went on a medical lockdown for a short time this morning while the Bureau County Sheriff’s K9 unit was in the building. All students remained in their classrooms and teachers continued their instruction.
This process is part of an ongoing effort to ensure a safe, drug-free environment, which also includes academic curriculum that discusses healthy habits. We appreciate your support of the process and willingness to reinforce these messages at home.

The Bureau Valley Storm Boys Basketball team will play at Fulton High School tonight. Fulton will be hosting a "Yellow Out" for suicide awareness. All visiting fans are asked to wear yellow in support of the cause as the Fulton community mourns its loss.

Varsity and sophomore girls bus time for Monday, January 20th has been changed to 10:15 a.m.
Sophomore games will be at 11:30 and 4.
Varsity games are at 11:30 and 2:30.

The sophomore and varsity girls basketball games in Kewanee today (January 18th) have been CANCELLED.
Games on Monday will be played as scheduled. The bus time will be 8:30 a.m.

Saturday’s Storm Sweeties practice has been postponed until Monday, January 20th at 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Saturday’s freshmen boys basketball tournament at Newman has been canceled.
At this time, the girls basketball bus will leave at 1:00 on Saturday to compete at Kewanee.

Due to forecasted inclement weather, the following has been changed:
All Friday evening high school have been canceled.
Tonight's home boys basketball vs. E-P has been postponed until Saturday, February 8th.
Tonight's girls basketball games at Kewanee have been canceled.

The BVHS National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes are planning our 2nd annual Christmas Fun Day for Pre-K through 3rd graders on Sunday, December 15 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Bureau Valley High School. We are planning a "Grinch" theme! This is a FREE event and will include a movie, arts & crafts, games, snacks, & prizes.
