We are excited to announce that SILO the film will be coming to Bureau Valley! SILO is the first-ever featured film about grain entrapment. Inspired by true events, SILO follows a harrowing day in an American farm town. Disaster strikes when teenager Cody Rose is entrapped in a 50-foot-tall grain bin. When the corn turns to quicksand, family, neighbors and first responders must put aside their differences to rescue Cody from drowning in the crop that has sustained their community for generations. The movie will take place on Tuesday, January 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Bureau Valley High School Auditorium. Sponsors for the event are Bureau Valley FFA, Bureau County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and the Illinois State Fire Institute. Reservations are required by calling the Bureau County Farm Bureau at (815) 875-6468 or through the Facebook Event. After the movie, a farm safety demonstration by Illinois Fire Service institute is planned at Nutrien’s Manlius location on Route 40 just south of BV High School. Reservations are required for the training for an accurate meal count. The Poetry Out Loud competition that was scheduled for Wed., January 17th has been postponed to Wed., January 31st at 5:00 p.m. at Parlor Coffee in Sheffield.

FCA will NOT meet on Wed., January 17th. The first FCA meeting of second semester will be held on Wed., January 24th at 7:15 a.m.

BVHS Basketball Practice Time Update: Wednesday, Jan. 10th Storm Cellar Boys Basketball 3:30-5:30 Girls Basketball 5:15-6:45 Go Storm!

The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team went 2-1 on Monday night, with wins over E-P (280 to 70) and Orion (240 to 70) before dropping Round 3 to Mendota (230 to 160) . The J-V team also went 2-1, with wins over Orion and Mendota.
