Happy Veterans Day from Bureau Valley! We had a great turnout this morning at our High School Program. The program started off with a welcome from BVHS Principal, Mr. Price, and the Pledge of Allegiance led by the Junior High Student Council President, Aiden Litherland. The Band and Choir performed several patriotic pieces and the poem "11th Hour, 11th Day, 11th Month" was recited by High School Student Council President, Camryn York. Three students gave Voice of Democracy speeches and our Student Council put together a multimedia presentation. The program was concluded with a tribute to local veterans and active duty military personnel. Kaleb Workman played tabs following a brief moment of silence. Alaina Wasilewski, Student Council Vice President, gave the closing remarks. Thank you to all Veterans and active duty Military for your service!

Congratulations to Glenda Klingenberg for being selected to receive a Three Rivers Athletic Conference Lifetime Pass. She had recently been nominated for all her years of support to our athletic teams and we are thrilled that she was selected to receive this! The transportation department was also recognized at last night's board meeting in honor of Bus Safety Month. Our transportation staff has been busy providing bus safety demonstrations and drills to all BV students this month. Thank you, to all members of our transportation team for everything you do on a daily basis to get our kids safely where they need to be. We appreciate all you do!

Welcome Back
Dear Parents, We have recently been notified by the USDA that there will be a return to pre-pandemic meal programs with paid, free and reduced-price meals for students. We understand that this transition may be difficult for families. That is why the Bureau Valley School Board will not be raising meal prices for the 22-23 school year. The current meal prices have been in place since the 17-18 school year. As a reminder, meal prices are as follows: Breakfast K-12: $1.25 ($. 30 for families that qualify for reduced price meals) Lunch K-8: $1.75 ($.40 for families that qualify for reduced price meals) Lunch 9-12: $2.25 ($.40 for families that qualify for reduced price meals) High School A la Carte items will be full price for all students During registration, the District made available to you the Free/Reduced Lunch Application. If you would still like to apply for free or reduced price meals, please contact your student’s building office for an application. Schools are facing the same challenges that many grocery stores and restaurants are having with obtaining food supplies. Our staff is working to serve healthy meals to your child. We ask for your patience as we navigate these challenges. Jason R. Stabler Superintendent
